This far eastern spice herb is a real little gem in term of its medicinal qualities. However, choosing the most effective variety requires some careful consideration.

I'm a real convert to this herb extract and taking one daily with at least 95% curcumin is paramount to getting the maximum in terms of some of the stated health benefits.

These are numerous and we'll get to them in a minute. What is crucial is making sure the supplement you take has a high enough percentage of this turmeric extract. That's the plant from which we derive it, and the best bit so to speak. Numerous medical and clinical studies from around the world have testified to the effectiveness of using it to treat certain illnesses.

The list is somewhat lengthy but includes its use amongst patients of osteoarthritis, type 2 diabetes, liver disorders and acne. There's also some early, promising studies, still low level, looking at how a supplement of 95%curcumin powder or higher could benefit sufferers of certain cancers.

Some have commented that this is more so before any symptoms appear, as it seems to demonstrate a preventative and protective effect. But even after, the use of curcumin has also shown a positive influence. These are facts hard to ignore and we look forward to more good data in the future.

Bear in mind, we have to be careful when talking about cures but anything that could be helpful in preventing illnesses happening in the fist place has certainly got my vote.

Just to reiterate, before you make your next purchase make a point of choosing the right supplement that has no artificial ingredients at all, plus at least a 95% curcumin powder content. Why shortchange your own health!
